Acta Crystallographica Section E

Structure Reports Online was launched in January 2001 as the IUCr's first electronic-only journal. It is a rapid communication journal for the publication of concise reports on inorganic, metal-organic and organic structures, and benefits from an enhanced electronic publication procedure. Each published report includes a set of key indicators, giving a summary of the main descriptors of the precision and completeness of the study, with indications of problems such as disorder. The publication...

Bis(2-bromopyridinium) hexachloridostannate(IV) - April 10, 2008

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C5H5BrN)2SnCl6, contains one cation and one half-anion. The SnCl62 anion is located on an inversion center and forms a quasi-regular octahedral arrangement. Hydrogen-bonding interactions of two kinds, viz. NH...ClSn and CH...ClSn, along with Cl...Br interactions 3.4393(15), connect the ions in the crystal structure into two-dimensional supramolecular arrays. These supramolecular arrays are arranged in layers approximately parallel to (110) built up...

(Carbonyl-1C)bis2,3(5)-cyclopentadienyl3-(S-methyl trithiocarbonato)methylidyne-1:2:34C,S:C:C(triphenylphosphine-1P)(3-sulfido-1:2:33S)dicobalt(II)iro - April 10, 2008

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, FeCo2(C5H5)2(C3H3S3)S(C18H15P)(CO)CF3SO3, consists of a triangular irondicobalt cluster cation and a trifluoromethanesulfonate anion. In the cation, the FeCo2 triangle is symmetrically capped on one face by an S atom and on the other by a C atom linked to a methyl trithiocarbonate residue that bridges the FeC bond. Each Co atom carries a cyclopentadienyl ligand while the Fe atom coordinates to one carbonyl and one triphenylphosphine ligand. In the...

Ammonium 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoate - April 10, 2008

The title compound, NH4+C11H7O3, was obtained by slow evaporation of a 30% ammonia solution of 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular NH...O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to the bc plane.

Bis4-(Z)-(4-fluorobenzylamino)(phenyl)methylene-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-onato-2N4,Onickel(II) - April 10, 2008

The molecule of the title compound, Ni(C24H19FN3O)2, has twofold rotation symmetry. The NiII ion is in a square-planar coordination geometry which is distorted towards tetrahedral and is coordinated by two N atoms of imine and two O atoms of pyrazolone from two Schiff base 4-(Z)-(4-fluorobenzylamino)phenylmethylene-3-methyl-1-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-5(4H)-onate ligands.

Bis-2,2-(3-azapentane-1,5-diyl)bis(nitrilomethylidyne)diphenolatodicopper(II) dimethyl sulfoxide disolvate - April 10, 2008

The title compound, Cu2(C18H19N3O2)22C2H6OS or Cu2(SalenN3H)22DMSO, where SalenN3H is the multidentate Schiff base 2,2-(3-azapentane-1,5-diyl)bis(nitrilomethylidyne)diphenolate dianion and DMSO is dimethyl sulfoxide, is a solvated dinuclear CuII complex. The neutral complex is built from two Cu(SalenN3H) units related by an inversion center. All heteroatoms in the Schiff bases coordinate the CuII ions, which display highly distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometries. The solvent molecules are...

1,2-Bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane2-bis(diphenylphosphinomethyl)aminopyridiniumfluoridohydrazidatomolybdenum(IV) bis(tetrafluoridoborate) - April 10, 2008

In the crystal structure of the title compound, MoF(N2H2)(C31H29N2P2)(C26H24P2)(BF4)2, each Mo atom is surrounded by four P atoms of one 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane and one 2-bis(diphenylphosphinomethyl)aminopyridinium ligand. The remaining binding sites of the distorted octahedron are occupied by a hydrazidate (NNH22) and a fluoride ligand. Two F atoms of an anion are disordered over two positions; the site occupancy factors are ca 0.7 and 0.3.
