Ivory Tower to begin construction - July 5, 2008

The long-delayed Ivory Tower residential project in Dubai is expected to begin on Nov 1 after more than three years since it was launched, The National has reported. A spokesman for Saudi-based Sokook Investment Group, the project developer said the delay was due to a demand by TECOM, for a bank guarantee from the developer before construction could begin. New mortgage law approved in Saudi - July 3, 2008

Saudi Arabia's Shura Council has approved a draft of the long-awaited mortgage law, paving the way for its approval by the government, reported Reuters. Durar launches project in Dubailand - July 3, 2008

UAE-based developer Durar Properties has launched a joint venture project with Abu Dhabi-based Ali and Sons and leading Saudi conglomerates to build Durar 1, a 63,000 square feet, 19-storey twin tower development in the Residence complex in Dubailand. MRHE begins work on Dhs3bn housing project - July 2, 2008

The Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment has begun construction work on the Dhs3bn ($817m) housing project in the Al Barsha area of Dubai.
