Our poor friends in Texas might end up facing devastation later today due to the timing. The most recent forcast still holds Ike as a cat 2 storm , but this might end up fooling people who are not looking at the other factors. As of 2 pm Ike was already raising the water levels along hundreds of miles of the gulf coast by as much as 5-8 feet, and it was still almost 200 miles away.
