WILDERNESS FAST AND COMPASSIONATE ACTION - Roshi Joan Halifax, Marty Peale - (Found June 29, 2008 )

A time for deep practice and a rite of passage, participants enter the wilderness in solitude and fasting to see how to bring forward greater energy and depth in their lives to serve others. Preparations include intensive teachings, interviews, meditation, and council. Participants find a natural refuge where they spend four days alone and fasting. Open Hands Benefit Recital Featuring Maya Hoffman - (Found June 29, 2008 )

Open Hands presents pianist, Maya Hoffman, for a special benefit recital featuring Chopin: 24 Preludes. This event will begin at 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 29th, 2008, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation located at 107 West Barcelona in Santa Fe. Admission is a suggestion donation of $15.00 at the door. Proceeds benefit the programs of Open Hands. Open Hands has been helping the elderly, disabled and economically disadvantaged to live with dignity since 1977.

2008 - 2009 Loaned Art Exhibition - (Found June 29, 2008 )

The Arts Commission is seeking submissions for the 2008-2009 Loaned Art Exhibit. By facilitating the temporary placement of privately-owned artwork on City property, the program provides artists with the opportunity to contribute to their community & share their work with a broad audience. All artists working in 3-D media suitable for outdoor display are encouraged to apply. Winning entries will be installed in various locations around Santa Fe. The deadline for priority submissions is July.
