GameCamp Oslo - Inspirational Boosting - September 27, 2008

Yesterday I left my dayjob early to go with my brother Marius to the Oslo GameCamp at my former school NITH . I really wanted to get a better understanding of game programming and my brother (who is 18) is considering getting more into programming so we both had good reasons to be there. GameCamp is my third community event in the same amount of weeks. This is probably more community events attended for me than in total over the last two years , where I didn't have the time nor energy to attend.

Unit Testing decoupled from Design == Adoption - September 26, 2008

In my previous post I started talking in more coherent words about feelings Ive had lurking in the past year. Treat this as a stream of consciousness. before that, heres a short highlight summary of responses to my post in other blogs: Steve Freeman thinks Im pulling the wrong way So does Ayende (in a way) A goof thread on this in the alt.net mailing list ...

See You at Tech Days Canada 2008 in Toronto - September 26, 2008

Hey southern Ontario folks, don't miss Tech Days Canada 2008 on October 29th and 30th in Toronto. If you're into Microsoft technologies, you're sure to find something that you want - or need - to know about. There are over 30 sessions in five tracks. I'm very interested in the Web Development track with plenty of Silverlight content. After lunch on the first day, I'll be presenting "A Deep Dive into the ASP.NET AJAX Extensions" and showing how to hook up your client code to ASMX Web services....

Results: Using a dark theme in VS for a week - September 26, 2008

As I mentioned several days ago Ive been seeing if a dark theme in VS would help my eyes a little. The short of it is no, no it didnt. The major sore point is that if you use a dark theme in VS then you find yourself constantly swapping between dark (VS) and light (web content, content in general). The latter of course doesnt sound like its particularly good for you and Id definitely concur with that. I actually found that my background was slightly off-white in my VS settings and since...
