You can choose to ignore folder junctionreparse points to avoid loops (because of the way SyncBack works it would loop on checking for differences and not actually in copying filesfolders). In SE V4.1 there's an option to change where a shortcut points to, and we're also looking to add this to hardsymbolic links. I too have noticed the timestamp problem with a number of files, although I did not have SyncBack installed when the clocks changed here in the UK. I'm not looking forward to running my first backup after the clocks change again at the end of Summer, if the software is going to...http://2brightsparks.com/bb/viewtopic.php?p=20424#20424 Development Blog :: More V5 optimizations and fixes- (Found July 2, 2008 ) Author: mickyj Subject: More V5 optimizations and fixes Posted: Tue Jul 01, 2008 8:06 am (GMT 0) Topic Replies: 0 We've been spending more time trying to decrease profile run-times. As mentioned in a previous blog post, a lot of time (in the pre-copying stage) is spent filtering. This is because every file and folder must be compared to the filter, except when the file or folder has been explicitly selected in the file and folder selection tree, i.e. selections override filters. This leads to...http://2brightsparks.com/bb/viewtopic.php?p=20425#20425 SyncBackSE V4 (shareware) :: RE: Carefull if you are running SE on windows server 2003- July 2, 2008 Author: mickyj Posted: Tue Jul 01, 2008 8:11 am (GMT 0) Topic Replies: 7 Hi, I can't find any information about disk optimizations being off on the system drive for Windows 2003. I did find the following which states that disk caching is enabled by default for 2003: http:support.microsoft.comkb837331 I do not disagree with your findings, but are there any links about this kind of issue on 2003 Thanks. _________________ A horse walks into a bar, he sits down and the bartender asks him,..http://2brightsparks.com/bb/viewtopic.php?p=20426#20426 SyncBackSE V4 (shareware) :: RE: Carefull if you are running SE on windows server 2003- July 2, 2008 Author: ianq Posted: Tue Jul 01, 2008 8:29 am (GMT 0) Topic Replies: 7 I'll find something for you, it took me ages to figure out why the C: drive was that slow when I first ran into it. And the link you provided isn't the same issue, that's the windows cache manager. What 2003 does is turn the advanced features off for the boot disk at the 'hardware driver' level - and even if you turn them on, it turns them off at the next reboot. I eventually found a site that explained it, and...http://2brightsparks.com/bb/viewtopic.php?p=20427#20427 SyncBackSE V4 (shareware) :: RE: Carefull if you are running SE on windows server 2003- July 2, 2008 Author: mickyj Posted: Tue Jul 01, 2008 8:46 am (GMT 0) Topic Replies: 7 Hi, I found the following: http:technet.microsoft.comen-gbmagazinecc162475.aspx History repeating itself _________________ A horse walks into a bar, he sits down and the bartender asks him, "Why the long face"http://2brightsparks.com/bb/viewtopic.php?p=20428#20428 SyncBackSE V4 (shareware) :: RE: Carefull if you are running SE on windows server 2003- (Found July 2, 2008 ) Author: ianq Posted: Tue Jul 01, 2008 8:48 am (GMT 0) Topic Replies: 7 see http:support.microsoft.comid=321543 under resolution. I probably should have called this 'domain controller' problem, but then again most 2003 server boxes ARE the domain controller.
