Millions have strolled along the Wall at Waikiki. The popular Kapahulu Groin is enjoyed by visitors and residents -- but is also the site of many spinal cord injuries. the latest case happened Sunday afternoon involving a 19-year-old man. It's a thrill that's been around for decades.

St. Louis Students Exposed to Lead-based Paint - July 2, 2008

Students and faculty members at St. Louis School were exposed to lead-based paint. A concerned parent says he noticed a high amount of dust coming from a construction project on campus last week and questioned school authorities about the chances crews were working with lead. the parent says he was told by a top school official that the area was tested for lead but lab tests were negative. The construction project was happening on the steps at Bertram Hall.

State Spinal Cord Injury Research Board has not awarded grants in timely manner, comptroller says in audit NEW YORK - July 2, 2008

The state Spinal Cord Injury Research Board has not awarded grants in a timely manner, prompting the Legislature to take back $13.5 million one year and withhold funds in others, Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli said in an audit released yesterday. But the state Health Department, which oversees the board and the Spinal Cord Injury Trust Fund, said no money has been lost because the agency still has the authority to spend the funds.

DISABLED WOMAN UNABLE TO BATHE FOR FORTNIGHT BECAUSE OF COUNCIL DELAY UK - July 2, 2008

Severely disabled Brenda Seckerson has been unable to have a proper bath for almost a fortnight because of problems fitting a specialist washroom at her home. Brenda is unable to use the 40,000 facility because handrails have not been fitted to the bath or toilet, meaning she is having to rely on being sponge bathed.

Leeds wheelchair man refused beer - because 'he'd be over limit' UK - July 2, 2008

DISABLED Leeds man Lee Cook was refused a beer in a pub - by staff who said he'd be over the drink-drive limit in his electric wheelchair. The cerebral palsy sufferer was left stunned when he was told he could have no more than two bottles of Budweiser during a visit to the Stick Or Twist pub in Leeds city centre.
