State awards grants for bike trail projects - November 17, 2007

Nearly $1.5 million has been awarded to Madison County communities to improve or expand bike trails.The grants were administered through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources' Bicycle Path Grant Program. The program reimburses local governments up to 50 percent of approved development costs for bicycle trail projects up to a maximum of $200,000.
