Water Up In Jefferson County. - June 19, 2008

While driving around Jefferson County the past couple of days, it is clear the water is on the rise. While driving south on 61-67, the bridge between Pevely and Hurkey has the water almost at the deck. This is the highest I have seen it on the bridge, and even higher than the last round of flooding. The water at Barnhart and 61-67 is also on the rise and nearer to the road than I have seen it. The question is, will 61-67 end up closing down due to high water before this is over

Teen pleads guilty in fire that damaged school - June 11, 2008

Young man who set Fox Elementary School on fire with careless use of fireworks pleaded guilty to charges of exploding or igniting fireworks near a school and property damage. Sentencing will be in July for this 19 year old man, charged in a fire that left a Jefferson County school badly damaged.
