Everyday living these days - April 27, 2008

As I post less and less about specific medical events (every chemo is just the same these days), I realized that I'm just plain posting less and less. So here's what it's like at the end of 5-6 cycles of ABVD - what I've been told by nurses and patients alike is "one of the hardest chemos" there is.Before treatment, I read a bunch of stuff, and was prepared for side effect after side effect. I was a little confused - how could you have both mouth sores AND dry mouth constipation AND diarrhea.

New hair! - April 26, 2008

Okay, folks, here's my new wig. These pictures may not be the greatest, but I do love how it looks. Also, I am wearing Merpette earrings in these photos, and have been wearing them all the time since getting them as a present. Love!I may get another wig, depending on how much I like wearing this one around. CLF will probably kindly pick up the tab for this wig and maybe the next one, too.

Yikes. Then on Friday morning (411), I had my cycle 5 oncologist visit. Same PA as last time, more things getting lost in translation. Last time...

Shrinking 2 - April 16, 2008

Saw the psychiatrist yesterday. Her office is in the Med Inn part of the hosital, which is impossible to reach without at least two banks of elevators and about a hundred hallways. Apparently the walk was a little long for me. I spent most of the half-hour wait trying not to faint and promising myself I absolutely would NOT barf, not in the waiting room, no thank you, NOT barf. Then I spent the rest of it barfing in the ladies'. And it's always SO pleasant to kneel on the tile floor of a...

Cancer all around - April 10, 2008

Whew. On my friends page today: sudden death by leukemia AND feline breast cancer. Crap, you guys. I'm so sorry. Not that I don't always ... but I have very mixed feelings about chemo tomorrow.
