libxml 2.6.7 and libxslt 1.1.3 released - (Found July 15, 2008 )

Daniel Veillard has recently released updated versions of libxml and libxslt. An important security fix is included, along with some improvements and optimizations and bug fixes.

xmlformat: Consistently format XML files - (Found July 15, 2008 )

xmlformat is a REX-based script (take your pick from Perl or Ruby versions) for consistently reformatting XML files; that is, "canonizing" and normalizing whitespace, indenting, line-wrapping, and placement of line breaks. It works as advertised, handling mixed content and "verbatim" content correctly.

libxml 2.6 major revision release - (Found July 15, 2008 )

Daniel Veillard recently announced libxml 2.6.0, a major revision release of libxml. He's now announced a bugfix release, libxml 2.6.1, as well as libxslt 1.0.33.

PreTI authoring tools - (Found July 15, 2008 )

David Tolpin has announced PreTI, a set of open-source Java-based, RelaxNG-driven authoring tools that "implements a different approach to input of structured documents." Currently available are both a PreTI jEdit plugin (docs) and a toolkit (docs) for creating "markup rules" useful with PreTI implementations.
