A local man was arraigned today on sexual assault charges after he turned himself in on a warrant that says he had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl, police said.Christopher Lafreniere, 43, of 106 First St., is charged with second-degree sexual assault of a victim under 16, fourth-degree sexual assault of a victim under 16 and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. Suffield Residents Support $13 Million In Library Bonds - June 20, 2008

Library officials at a special town meeting Thursday night presented a plan to build a new library, and after hearing it, residents endorsed issuing $13 million in municipal bonds to pay for it. CT Biodiesel Appeals Suffield's Permit Rejection - June 18, 2008

CT Biodiesel has filed an appeal in Hartford Superior Court of the zoning and planning commission's decision to deny the company a special permit needed to build a $65 million biodiesel fuel production plant.The appeal alleges that the commission acted illegally by denying the application, because 'the evidence of the record confirms that the application satisfies all regulatory requirements for approval.''The main basis is that we met all the legal requirements,' said Joseph W. Suffield Compiling More Inclusive War Veterans Database - June 15, 2008

A volunteer group has begun trying to document the names of any soldier serving in war time who has ever called Suffield home.Many town veterans are already honored on the Veterans Monument at Bridge and Main streets, but they had to have lived in Suffield at the time they left to serve, said project leader Mary Anne Zak.'We all support the goal of compiling a database of anybody that has lived in Suffield at any time who served in the military during any time of war,' Zak said.
