Northport district rejects $8.9M school-field bond - June 25, 2008

Residents of the Northport-East Northport School district on Tuesday rejected an $8.9-million bond proposition by a vote of 1,197 to 1,158. The bond, defeated by 39 votes, would have allowed the district to borrow $8,975,000 to renovate district athletic fields and outdoor athletic facilities, including upgrading fields, running tracks, and tennis courts in a program of construction that would have begun in July 2009.
