Wall-e, is it worth seeing- August 13, 2008 So, we went to See Wall -E today. Having seen the tantalizing trailers, it was just one of those films that you have to see on the big screen. Well, That's what I thought this morning. The film has the usual Pixar freebie before the main feature. This time it's the turn of PRESTO, which I honestly enjoyed. It is a clever well thought out little film showcasing the relationship between a sneaky Magician and his sidekick Rabbit in the hat. This short had a more Adult than before but still...http://tideswellman.blogspot.com/2008/08/wall-e-is-it-worth-seeing.html Her eyes have captivated the world since she appeared on our cover in 1985. Now we can tell her story.- August 11, 2008 Names have power, so let us speak of hers. Her name is Sharbat Gula, and she is Pashtun, that most warlike of Afghan tribes. It is said of the Pashtun that they are only at peace when they are at war, and her eyesthen and nowburn with ferocity. She is 28, perhaps 29, or even 30. No one, not even she, knows for sure. Stories shift like sand in a place where no records exist. Time and hardship have erased her youth. Her skin looks like leather. The geometry of her jaw has softened. The eyes still.http://tideswellman.blogspot.com/2008/08/her-eyes-have-captivated-world-since.html Catzz - 2- August 10, 2008 Phil Gregory's Facebook profilehttp:tideswellman.blogspot.comhttp://tideswellman.blogspot.com/2008/08/catzz-2.html Six towns - One Carnival in Hanley park.- August 10, 2008 We went up to Hanley Park today just for a play on the park toys. I drive fast and can handle the car ..I have good road awareness but i scrape the car a lot because i dont pay attention to little details like parking.3) I'm a lazy..http://tideswellman.blogspot.com/2008/08/what-are-your-majot-flawsweaknesses.html Been to Chester Zoo today.- August 4, 2008 Chester ZooCheck out some of the animals at Chester Zoo. If I was going to gripe about anything it would only be small things like......1 facepainter to 20 bazillion kids, and who the hell designed the layout..its complex and takes a long time to get around. A more logical layout...like by continent or genus would make things easier, but what the hell, generally its pretty good day out. Traffic around Chester is Hell though so if your planning on going, from the midlands, i'd recommend using.http://tideswellman.blogspot.com/2008/08/been-to-chester-zoo-today.html After an absence of about 20 years i have just rediscovered Judge Dredd.! and my art is reinvigorated ..bought the comic 3 now but worth it- August 3, 2008 After an absence of about 20 years i have just rediscovered Judge Dredd! and my art is reinvigorated ..bought the comic 3 now but worth it.This all started after I was going up to bed and couldn't find a book that I wanted to read. I was dog tired but didn't fancy starting something new ...or reading the Stephen King, or William Blake books I have already started. I remembered that i had some old comics in my art folder and dug them out...both Judge Dredd...Wow, I had forgotten how freaking...http://tideswellman.blogspot.com/2008/08/after-absence-of-about-20-years-i-have.html Just watched Hancock. I have a name for those people who slated it...VAPID AIRHEADS. This is a good film- August 2, 2008 Before I get into the protracted and frankly pretentious world of the Film Critic, i'll state that I know films are subjective in as much as we all like different stuff. So I'll make this a General pop at James King who does the BBC Radio 1 film reviews. He said Hancock was disappointing. Well, that may be true if you like the kind of mushy, "follow the herd" trip that he recommends. Will smith plays the part of a Superhero with issues Brilliantly. Whats more the sub plot about Superheros being.http://tideswellman.blogspot.com/2008/08/just-watched-hancock-i-have-name-for.html |
