UA hosts 'Tools for Schools' donation drive - August 11, 2008

World Care, KOLD News 13 and Cricket Wireless have paired with the UA this year to host Tools for Schools, a donation drive taking place Friday and Saturday. "It sounded like an excellent program, particularly this year, when there's a great need," said Altman, UA director of outreach and community partnerships.

Clumpy soil becoming an annoying theme for UA Lander - August 11, 2008

The devil is in the details on Mars. Clumpy soil on the Red Planet continues to give the UA-led Phoenix Lander team headaches. According to a statement released by mission officials Friday, 'Phoenix' was having some trouble filling its Thermal and Evolved Gas Analyzer (TEGA) because clumps of soil were blocking the opening to the instrument.

Textbook frenzy - August 11, 2008

As students turn to the Internet to look for better deals on textbooks, the UofA Bookstore continues to implement programs aimed at driving down prices and keeping itself the number one source of books on campus. But addressing textbook prices isn't easy. "It's a very complex set of problems, like a spaghetti ball," said Frank Farias, executive director of the UofA Bookstore.
