Dream Mom - June 9, 2008

I hope to highlight some of the exceptional parenting blogs out there. Have you ever read Dream Mom&39;s blog While she&39;d never ask for sympathy or pity, she is an amazing woman who is a single parent to her disabled teenage son. She&39;d be the first to tell you she is just a mother taking care of her child. Honest and fearless, she communicates such a range of emotions. She calls her son Dear Son and she&39;s anonymous as well. Her son&39;s diagnosis is Cryptogenic Infantile Spasms...

New OFF Clean Feel - June 7, 2008

I&39;m not on their payroll but I love Off Skintastic. If your family is anything like ours, the bugs drive you nuts when you are outside at certain times. Half the time my daughter doesn&39;t even know bugs are around because she is playing but the rest of us get eaten alive by mosquitoes and whatever else is flying and biting! I was in the store and saw something new that I had to buy. OFF! Clean Feel is a new kind of insect repellent that doesn&39;t give you that horrible sheen of...

Disappointments - June 7, 2008

Today is a rough day for my daughter. She&39;s dealing with several disappointments and while my heart goes out to her, she unfortunately is responsible for the problems. It&39;s a rough lesson of cause and effect today. Part of me wants to gather her up and not let anything hurt her, ever. But that would cheat her of learning the lessons that come with getting knocked down. Everyone gets knocked down but the biggest issue is if they can get back up and try again. She needs to understand that.

Fun summer crafts kits - June 5, 2008

One of my favorite websites for inexpensive summer fun is orientaltrading.com. They sell all sorts of fun craft kits, ones for small and big kids (ok and adults who like to sneak in on the action too). The site even says, "Over 700 craft projects under a dollar each!". And it isn&39;t hard to find coupons for the site online to make it even cheaper - in fact here is one for you now, code WC96927 will get you 15% off an order of $50 or more if you order before June 20, 2008. We keep some of.

College, Plan B - June 2, 2008

Peter Gene When I was applying to colleges in 1987 and 1988, it was sort of a scattered process. My parents helped some but my grandmother was in a coma from Thanksgiving until New Years Eve when she passed away. My mother was grieving and my college search wasn&39;t always the top priority. Don&39;t get me wrong, she still took me on a trip to check out things but no one was really making sure I was covering all the bases. My first school waitlisted me. I was crushed when I got the thin...

Reach out and touch - June 1, 2008

IamSAM. Cellphones are everywhere aren&39;t they I knew when Disney got in the market for cell phones, the trickle down to kids would be fast and furious. My daughter can use my phone as well as I can, she can handle all the basics and can even find how to get online now. Shame I don&39;t have a plan for that and it is by the minute. She is of course clamoring for her own phone and that isn&39;t going to happen anytime soon. We&39;ve always said she can get one in middle school if she is...
