IDUG North America - Day 4- May 26, 2008 Well the IDUG North America 2008 conference is now over but it finished with an outstanding day last Thursday. For me the day started off with a special interest group meeting on The Changing Role of the DBA. Without a doubt the most discussed subject in the group was the increasing amount of time spent by database administrators as consultantsadvisors to lines of business and application teams. In the session I talked about a lot of the SYSIBMADM monitor views that I have blogged about here on ITtoohttp://networking.ittoolbox.com/r/rss.asp?url=http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/db2luw/idug-nort... IDUG North America - Day 1- May 19, 2008 Today was the official opening of the 2008 IDUG North American conference here in Dallas. This is the 20th anniversary of the IDUG North American conference and it's my 11th year speaking at this event. The opening keynote was great in my opinion. Arvind Krishna, IBM Vice President, Data Management & Worldwide Information Management Development kicked it off with a great vision of where information management is going. He talked about how companies have been spending a lot of time in the pasthttp://networking.ittoolbox.com/r/rss.asp?url=http://it.toolbox.com/blogs/db2luw/idug-nort... |
