I've been so immersed in sports lately that I forgot there was a rather important series of events just around the corner- the '08 Presidential Primaries. Last night I plopped down on a stool at Jerry's Belvedere Tavern, ordered a beer and watched the Democratic Party debate on a flat screen television with my favorite bartender Juan, a disenfranchised Republican who entered this country from Spain in the early 70's by leaping from a boat and swimming to shore. The short answer is no.. not quite. The New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts are clearly superior to any other team in either conference. However, given the drop off of teams like the Steelers, Chargers, Broncos, Bengals and, yes folks, the Ravens, there is now a parity between the two conferences that has not been there for a number of years.

Last Monday Ray Bachman and I sat in for Rob Long and I made some comments about the Ravens which seemed to stir some people's fury. I pointed out that the Ravens are a team built to squeak into the playoffs but not make it to the Super Bowl.
