This morning I was asked to fill in for Bob Haynie and expected to take the usual post Ravens game calls related to the ineptitude of the offense, Billick's status as head coach and whether or not Troy Smith can be a successful starting quarterback in the NFL.
I was verbally abused by both a caller (thanks Fergie) and Ray Bachman for trying to point out that injuries can't begin to tell the whole story of why the Ravens were a train wreck this season. I believed Jay Glazer's report last night...

The Michael Vick dogfighting story offered some hints of humor but mostly it was just shocking and sick. We've seen stories of cheating- Tim Donaghy, the Patriots, almost ALL of baseball- any of which might be funny if they didn't speak to weightier issues outside of sports. What about Pacman Jones and his love for strip clubs Or that fat, cigarette smoking Spaniard who beat Tiger Woods Do you have a nomination for FUNNIEST SPORTS STORY OF '07

Maybe it's my fault for not paying attention but I was unaware that, last Monday night, several Falcons players used their national appearance to make a statement in support of their former teammate Michael Vick. All were appropriately fined but is that enough Here's the article...

Someone needs to file a complaint with the NFL commissioner's office because the officiating in last night's game was atrocious. How can the Ravens possibly compete against a juggernaut like the Indianapolis Colts if the refs refuse to throw flags for things like "scoring at will", "illegal use of talent" and "failing to be nice to their opponent"
Anyone watching saw several incidents where the Colts blatantly completed passes for touchdowns without any regard for the fact that the Ravens had..
