The Great Day - April 27, 2008

Whatever else happens today, we're well set for a fine LISC Car Park party. It's April blue skies and sunshine &150; fitting indeed for a very proud day. The last time the traveling Armitage family woke in London, we were ankle deep in snow &150; and that was just 3 weeks ago.

Saturday nightSunday morning - April 20, 2008

What to make of the game, a win is a win and it is even sweeter against our nearest and dearest from down the road. An early arrival for us leads into the club shop and we are duly stocked with Semi-Final memorabilia. I am happy, Toulouse are my second team and I finally have a scarf with Irish and Toulouse on it.

Newcastle 8 13 London Irish - April 14, 2008

As Brian Smith was quoted as saying, &145;It's a long way up to Newcastle and long way down from the Heineken Cup quarter-final against Perpignan.&146; This was our second game of rugby this weekend. We had stayed with the &145;Lucky Grandma&146; en route to Newcastle and had decided to try a Rugby League game at St Helens (versus our local rivals&146; other team - Quins RL).

Wish I had been there - April 6, 2008

I have a T-shirt (courtesy of Mrs Goz) which says &147;20th April 2002 I Was There&148;. Unfortunately I was not there on 5th April 2008 when a new contender for the &147;Greatest London Irish Game of the Professional Era&148; emerged. This was a game that did not give us any silverware but thrust us firmly on to the international stage as a side to hold up its head in the greatest club competition in the world.

History in the making - April 4, 2008

No matter what happens this weekend it will be an historic milestone for London Irish. For the first time in the club's history LI will be playing in the quarter-finals of the upper-level ERC tournament - The Heineken Cup. The HC was over in January for LI during the previous two campaigns. With HC rugby in April we move into uncharted territory.

Welcome back, lads... - April 3, 2008

With our chances of a top 4 place all but annihilated by the recent string of defeats, a game against Bristol seemed like another disappointed train ride home in the making, with even more misgivings about Perpignan on Saturday. Thankfully, Irish proved exactly why they&146;re a side to be reckoned with ...
