The SullenbodeThe Halfway House for Wayward Neurotics and Other Bipedal Veterans of Cosmic DisorderAn Uneasy Quiet- November 4, 2004 Oh, I was so impressed that the people at the neighborhood beer garden were quiet, well-behaved. Even more well-behaved that usual. I found out why. Kurtis came by today, and I was telling him about the subdued atmosphere, and how proud I was of them all for not being the slobbering wolves they usually are. He let me know that it was an election day. Yeah Duh...I knew that..... But, I'd forgotten they can't serve BOOZE in there of Election Day. I'd ordered a ginger ale, so I didn't..http://journals.aol.com/ldysullenbode/TheSullenbode/entries/2004/11/03/an-uneasy-quiet/137... 1-800-FREAKIN'-WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!- November 3, 2004 I went to the neighborhood bar to watch the returns come in. NO! NO! NO!- November 1, 2004 It's the first significant snowfall of the season, and I am so very over being excited by snow here. When I first moved here six years ago, I was excited to see snow on Pike's Peak until the first week in June, and everyone yawned when I'd go on about it. Now, I'm just as jaded. There is one form of entertainment, though, that I find amusing, and that is identifying the people who moved here from California during the summer - they're the ones in the Lexxus' or Miata's coming..http://journals.aol.com/ldysullenbode/TheSullenbode/entries/2004/11/01/no-no-no/1350 |
