The AMP Experience- August 21, 2006 First up, I am a Windows-lover. I grew up in DOS, then Windows 3.1, then 95, 98, ME, 2000 and now XP. And AMP - AMP refers to Apache + MySQL + PHP. This is not something new to me. Several years back I had setup my system to be a webserver running Apache + MySQL + PHP. Back then, the acronym "AMP" had not been invented yet.
