Bradley County Pink Tomato Festival - June 16, 2008

State's tomato growers see business pick up since scare - June 14, 2008

LITTLE ROCK - The recent salmonella scare has had Bob Proffer's phone ringing off the hook. The reason: Arkansas-grown tomatoes. "We're oversold every day. The demand is very high," said Proffer, spokesman for Proffer Wholesale Produce Inc. That demand has driven 20-pound boxes of tomatoes, usually sold for $15 this early in the season, to $20 in some parts of the state. Full article here
