State's tomato growers see business pick up since scare- June 14, 2008 LITTLE ROCK - The recent salmonella scare has had Bob Proffer's phone ringing off the hook. The reason: Arkansas-grown tomatoes. "We're oversold every day. The demand is very high," said Proffer, spokesman for Proffer Wholesale Produce Inc.
