Lowly Leeds to topple Sorry Sarries - March 28, 2008

Anyone looking at the Guinness Premiership league table would think that Leeds is dead and buried. However those fans who turned out on Good Friday to see the &145;Negies beat Newcastle will still be harbouring hopes of a last minute reprieve. The Carnegie boys were good value for their win following the hard fought draw at Worcester the previous week.

Leeds Carnegie 16 Newcastle Falcons 15 - March 22, 2008

A swirling Artic wind welcomed Newcastle Falcons to Headingley Carnegie last night. The Falcons, experiencing their own demons within the team setup welcomed back the cavalry who had been on international duty for England. Whatever Leeds' fate this season they will leave their mark on the G.P by scoring within 8.2 seconds of the start.

Leeds need a miracle against Newcastle on Friday night to stop the Falcons flying off with the points. Well this is the season for them but the archangel of English rugby, having had his wings clipped by old Brian recently, will be keen to make the occasion of his visit to Leeds a religious experience for the huge crowd expected to turn up for the game.

Worcester Warriors 10 Leeds Carnegie 10 - March 16, 2008

This week our Premiership adventure took us to Sixways, the home of Worcester Warriors, to see the clash of the league's 2 bottom sides. And in all honesty, that is what we saw, 2 sides with little individual skill, or flair in evidence for the near capacity crowd.

What a difference a few weeks makes in the Guinness Premiership. This weekend&146;s clash at Sixways has long been billed as the relegation decider. However Worcester has managed to find some decent form of late and pulled off some remarkable victories against the Sharks and Tigers.

Leeds Carnegie 13 Bristol 30 - March 9, 2008

When I heard the Worcester result yesterday, although it wasn't what I'd wanted to hear, I also took consolation from the fact that we had 3 games coming up that we all expected we could win, and after 20 minutes of this afternoons match against a poor Bristol side, it looked like we were going to reduce the gap once again.

Leicester Tigers 34 Leeds Carnegie 21 - March 8, 2008

The weekend started badly with the Worcs result on Friday night. And the thoughts running through my mind as I set off to Leicester on Saturday morning were something along the lines of &145;the last supper when the heathens were on the menu&146; ( for heathens read Leeds).

Preview: Leicester Tigers vs Leeds Carnegie - March 1, 2008

Leeds Carnegie travels to Leicester this weekend to finish a run of three exceedingly tough fixtures against teams from the upper echelon of the Guinness Premiership. The team has got nothing from the first two of these fixtures and Leicester fans will see no reason for that to change at Welford Road. Leeds fans , on the other hand, are wondering where the next points are coming from.
