/dev/nullCameron PurdyMailus Interruptus- April 23, 2007 It's so addictive that it's been called the Crackberry. It's as expensive as an Apple iPhone, but you can actually buy a Blackberry. Last week though, the back-end infrastructure suffered a glitch: ... the outage from Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning was triggered by "the introduction of a new, non-critical system routine" designed to optimize the cache, or temporary memory, on the computer servers that run the BlackBerry network. (Compare that to earlier Fujitsu notebooks that literally ran without a problem util being dropped down an entire flight of stairs!) We now buy Macs (an option for engineers) and Dells (our default). I always have "special needs" when it comes to notebooks, which basically means that I'm a gadget freak who...http://www.jroller.com/cpurdy/entry/new_notebook |
